Introduction
Hello and welcome to this training course on Electrical Principles.
Electricity is an essential part of modern- day living providing many functions in our
domestic, leisure and working lives.
It provides lighting for homes and offices.
It powers our factories and manufacturing sectors.
It provides heating and cooling.
It enables our communications.
It acts as a fuel source for transport
But what is electricity and how does it perform these functions?
What are the units of electricity and how are these combined to create power and
energy ?
What are the main components used in electrical circuits?
How are these components wired together to make basic functioning circuits ?
In this course entitled “Electrical Principles”, we will learn how electricity works and
how to work on basic electrical circuits
Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for those who wish to study basic electrical circuits.
This course is also appropriate for someone working in industry who is looking to be
introduced to electrical systems.
The course is divided into 6 lessons:
•Lesson 1: History of Electricity
•Lesson 2: Electrical units and components
•Lesson 3: Basic electrical circuit design
•Lesson 4: Electrical Calculations in AC Circuits
•Lesson 5: Constructing electrical circuits
•Lesson 6: Fault finding on electrical circuits
On successful completion of this course all students will be awarded a Certificate of
Completion. This certificate confirms you have completed all the video lessons for
every module and fully met all the requirements of the course.
To achieve this award all the assessment quizzes for each lesson must be passed. The pass grade for each quiz is 80%.You can retake lesson quizzes as often as you like.
The Assessment Method
There’s a quiz at the end of each lesson to test your understanding of the material. To successfully complete this course, you must pass the quiz for each lesson. Once all the lessons have been completed, you can then download and print the People & Process completion certificate.
So let’s get started! In the next lesson entitled “Electrical Principles“, we will look at The History of Electricity
