Introduction

The aim of this course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence in the principles of Irish employment law and the statutory frameworks which regulate the employment relationship.

This course provides the learner with an insight into the different topics of employment legislation and how statutory bodies are used in its implementation.

On completion of this training course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the raft of Irish employment legislation and the bodies charged with dealing with disputes.
  • Understand the types of employment contracts and their main elements.
  • Understand how the Working time Act 1997 is applied.
  • Appreciate the different types of Protective Leave available to employees.
  • Understand the different forms of workplace discrimination and how complaints are dealt with.
  • Appreciate how Health and Safety legislation is applied in the workplace.
  • Understand mechanisms for dealing with Industrial Relations.

Susanne has extensive experience in Operations Management, and has worked in manufacturing and operations for more than 15 years.

Susanne is also an experienced business assessor and trainer, working on behalf of national and international accreditation agencies.
