Cleanrooms are an environment where the level of contamination is controlled, specified by the number of particles per cubic meter at a specified particle size. Humidity, temperature and pressure can also be controlled. We’ll explain how cleanrooms came into existence and why they are used. We’ll examine the different classifications of cleanrooms and the standards that define them. We’ll also outline the potential sources of contamination that can occur within the cleanroom environment and how these can monitored and controlled.
